This week, our musical journey took us to Australia and the didgeridoo. Our guide on this journey was Michelle Marcus-Deardon, an ex-PLACE member who has spent many years collecting, playing and talking about the instrument.
Michelle gave us a really absorbing workshop in which she demonstrated a number of instruments from her collection, including an unusual circular one. Here is a little montage of Michelle recreating the ancient, haunting sound of the didgeridoo.
And then – it was time for out PLACE youngsters to have a go! Here they are, trying out some instruments from Michelle’s collection.
