Nene Valley Railway

Last week, it was all about water and air – this week our “transport” theme brings us to steam and the Nene Valley Railway.

The Nene Valley Railway (NVR) is a preserved railway in Cambridgeshire, England, running between Peterborough Nene Valley and Yarwell Junction.  The line, which is 7.5 miles (12.1 km) in length, with stations at each terminus, has been a location for filming over 150 TV shows, films, adverts and music videos.  TV shows filmed have included Casualty, Silent Witness, Dalziel & Pascoe and Poirot; films Octopussy and Golden Eye.

PLACE families had the chance to step back in time and experience the sounds, sights and smells of steam locomotion and enjoy a ride on the wonderful NVR.

Here are some of the highlights of our visit.
