This term we have been focussing on”homes through the ages” – and, yesterday, we looked at young people who were forced by war to leave their own homes to try to make the best of things amongst strangers – a story that is still with us today.
A party of over 80 parents and youngsters visited Milton Keynes theatre for a performance of “Goodnight Mr Tom”, a story about an evacuee during World War II. Before the performance, PLACE youngsters attended workshops led by National Theatre and Youth Theatre directors that focussed on the themes of the play.
A truly outstanding production by the National Theatre made for a moving and thought-provoking experience.
Below are some moments from the pre-performance workshops.
