Fishbourne Roman Palace

As part of our spring “Romans” theme, PLACE visited Fishbourne Roman Palace and Gardens to explore this outstanding archaeological site and see the largest collection of early Roman mosaic floors in Britain – over twenty, including the spectacular “Cupid on a Dolphin”.  We were also able to view the corridors and under-floor heating system from the elevated walkways, as well as an introductory film showing how the Palace may have looked 2,000 years ago.

PLACE youngsters had a chance to step back in time too in trying on the costumes of the rich and powerful…

…and the not so rich and powerful…

There was also an opportunity to use their tablets…
